Minuteman resolves of 1948, 1948-1949.

A small collection of resolutions and proclamations passed by cities and towns in Massachusetts, under the guise of the Minute Man Chapter of the United World Federalists. The resolutions stipulated that delegates to the U.S. Congress, Executive Branch, and the United Nations would be encouraged to support the expansion of powers of the U.N. for the purposes of world peace. Also included are some resolutions passed by other U.S. cities proclaiming World Government Week during various weeks in 1948 to urge citizens to become aware and involved in the same goal.

In 1945, four individuals who had worked on the Manhattan project-John L. Balderston, Jr., Dieter M. Gruen, W.J. McLean, and David B. Wehmeyer-formed a committee and wrote a letter to 154 public figures asking for their opinions about the possibility of the creation of a world government.
